Target Details

This product was aseptically filtered through a Millipore 0.22 micron filter into clean, pre-sterilized containers. The product was tested on trypticase soy agar for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours and was found to be negative for bacteria.

Application Details

SDS-PAGE
2X SDS-PAGE Sample Loading Buffer is suitable for laboratory assays involved in protein biochemistry. 2X SDS-PAGE Sample Buffer is a concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with distilled, deionized water or equivalent to its final working concentration. 2X SDS-PAGE Sample Buffer consists of 0.125 M Tris, 4% (w/v) SDS, 20% (v/v) Glycerol and 0.01% (w/v) bromophenol blue.  This product is not reduced and does not contain DTT or b-ME. The pH of this solution is 6.8.  It was meticulously prepared using ultra pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade deionized water.

Store container at -20° C or colder prior to opening. Aliquot and re-freeze for best results. Some salts may precipitate out of solution at lower temperature. Allow buffer to equilibrate to room temperature (18° to 26° C) to restore solubility of some salts.
Expiration date is six (6) months from date of receipt.
SDS-PAGE, sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, describes a technique widely used in biochemistry to separate proteins according to their electrophoretic mobility (a function of the length of a polypeptide chain and its charge) and no other physical feature. SDS is an anionic detergent applied to protein sample to linearize proteins and to impart a negative charge to linearized proteins.
