Recombinant Protein
Target Details
PFKFB3
Recombinant full-length human PFKFB3 was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-Terminal Glutathione-S-Transferase fusion protein. The purity was determined to be >95% by densitometry.

Application Details
PFKFB3 Protein is stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 50mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol. PFKFB3 Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot. Expect a band approximately ~83kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
Formulation

PFKFB3 or 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2, 6-biphosphatase 3 is a potent activator of a key regulatory enzyme in the glycolysis pathway called phosphofructokinase. Phosphofructokinase regulates the steady-state concentration of fructose-2, 6-bisphosphate, a potent activator of key regulatory enzyme of the glycolysis pathway. PFKFB3 is bifunctional, although the phosphatase activity is low due to a mutation in an active site which can be upregulated after phosphorylation by protein kinases (1). PFKFB3 may be responsible for sustaining the high glycolytic flux of rapidly proliferating leukemia cells and may represent a molecular target for chemotherapeutic intervention (2). PFKFB3 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Fructose Kinase Proteins, Cancer, Cell Cycle, and Metabolic Disorder research.
