Dual Modification
MEK1 pS218-pS222 is a recombinant protein containing a polyhistidine tag expressed in Sf9. This protein is expressed in the presence of constitutively active B-raf (V600E) leading to high levels of phosphorylation of MEK1 activation residues at position S218 and S222. Analysis by SDS-PAGE resulted in a pattern consistent with purified MEK1 and was estimated to be greater than 90% pure.

Application Details
MEK1 pS218-pS222 is an activated recombinant protein suitable as a control for polyclonal or monoclonal anti-MEK1 in immunological assays. Activated MEK1 can be used in vitro to phosphorylate ERK protein. For western blot use at 50 ng or less. For other assays concentration is user optimized.

MEK1 pS218-pS222 is an activated recombinant protein was produced in Sf9 cells by co-expression of B-raf. Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1, also known as MKK or MEK, is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation. This pathway also plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in the brain. Activated MEK 1 acts as a dual specificity kinase phosphorylating both a threonine and a tyrosine residue on MAP kinase. This recombinant protein is the MEK1 isoform and is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience, Cell Signaling and Cancer Research.
