Recombinant Protein
Anti-VDAC1 Antibody was produced by repeated immunization of mice with a fusion protein containing amino acids 1-293 (full length) of human VDAC1.
Anti-VDAC1 Antibody was purified from concentrated tissue culture supernate by Protein G chromatography. BLAST analysis suggests that it is 98% identical to mouse, 98% identical to rat and >60% identical to VDAC2 and VDAC3.
Application Details
IHC, WB
Anti-VDAC1 Alkaline Phosphatase Conjugated Antibody is tested for Western Blots, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Expect a band approximately ~30kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Does not cross react with VDAC2 or VDAC3 (based on KO validation results). Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

Voltage-dependent anion-selective channel protein 1 (also known as VDAC, VDAC1 or outer mitochondrial membrane protein porin 1) is the outer mitochondrial membrane receptor for hexokinase and BCL2L1. VDAC forms a channel through the mitochondrial membrane and is involved in small molecule diffusion, cell volume regulation and apoptosis. VDAC may participate in the formation of the permeability transition pore complex (PTPC), which is responsible for the release of mitochondrial products that triggers apoptosis. Anti-VDAC1 is ideal for research in Cell Biology and Apoptosis.
