Rat
Recombinant Protein
Anti-Synaptojanin 1 Monoclonal Antibody was produced in mouse by repeated immunizations with recombinant protein from the C-terminal region of rat synaptojanin 1.
Anti-Synaptojanin 1 Monoclonal Antibody is directed against rat synaptojanin 1. Synaptojanin 1 antibody was Protein G purified from cell culture supernatant. Immunolabeling blocked by preadsorption of antibody with the protein used to generate the antibody. Cross reactivity from other species has not been determined.
Q62910 - UniProtKB

Application Details

IHC, WB
Anti-Synaptojanin 1 antibody is tested for use in Western Blotting and IHC. Expect a band of approximately 145 kDa in size corresponding to synaptojanin I proteins of rat brain extracts. Researchers should determine optimal titers for applications that are not stated below.

Formulation

Titrated value sufficient to run approximately 10 mini blots.
0.01 M HEPES, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.5
0.1 mg/ml Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) - IgG and Protease free, 50% (v/v) Glycerol

Synaptojanin 1 Monoclonal Antibody detects Synaptojanin 1, which is a phosphatidylinositol phosphatase involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis of synaptic vesicles. Synaptojanin 1 has two alternatively spliced isoforms; one that is ~ 145 kDA and is exclusively expressed in neurons, and the other ~ 170 kDa which is expressed in non-neuronal, peripheral tissues. The gene which encodes Synaptojanin 1, SYNJ1, has been mapped to chromosome 21 thus making it a candidate for involvement in Down’s syndrome (DS). It has recently been demonstrated that Ts65Dn mice (the most commonly used model of DS) have altered phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate metabolism. This defect is rescued by restoring SYNJ1 to disomy in the Ts65Dn mice.
