Native Protein
Anti-Synapsin I Antibody was produced in rabbit by repeated immunizations with native bovine synapsin I protein purified from bovine brain.
Anti-Synapsin I antibody is directed against bovine Synapsin I. The antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. Immunolabeling blocked by preadsorption of antibody with the protein used to generate the antibody. Reactivity is expected from human, mouse and rat. Cross reactivity from other sources has not been determined.

Application Details
IHC, IP, WB
Anti-Synapsin I antibody is tested for Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, and IHC and suitable for IF. Expect a band of approximately 78 kDa in size corresponding to the synapsin I doublet in Western Blots of rat brain extracts. Researchers should determine optimal titers for applications that are not stated below.

Synapsin I antibody detects Synapsin I protein which plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in brain. This effect is due in large part to the ability of the synapsins to regulate the availability of synaptic vesicles for release. In addition to its role in plasticity, the expression of synapsin I is a precise indicator of synapse formation. Thus, synapsin I immunocytochemistry provides a valuable tool for the study of synaptogenesis. The role of synapsin in synaptic plasticity and in synaptogensis is regulated by phosphorylation. Anti-Synapsin I Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Neuroscience, Signal Transduction research.
