Anti-PPAPDC2 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a 13 amino acid synthetic peptide from near the C-terminus human PPAPDC2.
Anti-PPAPDC2 Antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. Cross reactivity with PPAPDC2 from other sources has not been determined.

Anti-PPAPDC2 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, Western Blotting and Immunofluorescence. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at approximately 32 kDa in Western Blots of specific cell lysates and tissues.

Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.
PPAPDC2 is a phosphatase that dephosphorylates Presqualene diphosphate (PSDP) into presqualene monophosphate (PSMP), suggesting that it may have important role in innate immunity. PSDP is a bioactive lipid that rapidly remodels to PSMP upon cell activation. PPAPDC2 displays diphosphate phosphatase activity with a substrate preference for PSDP > FDP > phosphatidic acid. PPAPDC2 activity is independent of Mg2+ and has been identified in activated human neutrophil (PMN) extracts. It is widely expressed in human tissues. Recent studies shows PPAPDC2 is a functional isoprenoid diphosphate phosphatase.
