Conjugated Peptide
Anti-Phospho-Thr269/Ser272 p62 Antibody was produced in rabbits by repeated immunizations with a synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Thr269/Ser272 of human p62 conjugated to KLH.
Anti-Phospho-Thr269/Ser272 p62 Antibody is directed against p62 protein phosphorylated at T269 and S272. The antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum. Reactivity against p62 occurs from human sources. However, reactivity is also expected against non-human primate based on 100% sequence homology.

WB
Anti-Phospho-Thr269/Ser272 p62 Antibody is tested for Western Blots and is specific for the ~62 kDa p62 protein phosphorylated at Thr269 and Ser272. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

p62, also known as sequestosome1 (SQSTM1), is a shuttle protein transporting polyubiquitinated proteins for both proteasomal and lysosomal degradation. p62 is an integral component of inclusions in brains of various neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer disease (AD) neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) and Lewy bodies in Parkinson disease. p62 plays an important role in the protection of cells from the toxicity of misfolded proteins by enhancing aggregate formation especially in the later stages. Phosphorylation of Ser28 has recently been demonstrated to be related to the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease. p62 pT269/pS272 Antibody is ideal for researchers interested in neuroscience research.
