Conjugated Peptide
Anti-MEK1 pT386 Antibody was produced in rabbit by repeated immunizations with synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Thr 386 conjugated to KLH.
Anti-MEK1 pT386 antibodies are prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum. The immunolabeling is completely eliminated by treatment with lambda-phosphatase. Expect reactivity with the following species based on sequence homology: bovine, canine, chicken, mouse, non-human primates and Xenopus. Cross reactivity with MEK1 pT386 from other species has not been determined.
Q02750 - UniProtKB
AAI39730.1 - NCBI Protein

Application Details

WB
Anti-MEK1 pT386 (Rabbit) antibody is tested for use in Western Blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band of approximately 45 kDa in size corresponding to the MEK1 protein phosphorylated at Thr386 in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.

MEK1 pT386 antibody is directed against human MEK 1 phosphorylated against Thr386. MEK also known as MAP Kinase Kinase and MKK, is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation. This pathway also plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in the brain. Activated MEK 1 acts as a dual specificity kinase phosphorylating both a threonine and a tyrosine residue on MAP kinase. Conversely, there also appears to be a feedback phosphorylation of MEK 1 by MAP kinase. The sites on MEK 1 that are phosphorylated by MAP kinase are Thr292 and Thr386. MEK1 pT386 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience, Cell Signaling and Cancer Research.
