Anti-KPNA4 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a 15 amino acid synthetic peptide near the N-terminus of human KPNA4.
Anti-KPNA4 Antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. Cross reactivity with KPNA4 from other sources has not been determined.

Anti-KPNA4 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at approximately 58 kDa in Western Blots of specific cell lysates and tissues.

Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.
Karyopherin, a cytosolic and heterodimeric protein complex consisting of alpha and beta subunits, is responsible for targeting proteins with nuclear localization signals to the nuclear pore complex by an energy requiring, Ran-dependent mechanism. The alpha subunit and imported substrate enter the nucleus and accumulate in the nucleoplasm, while the beta subunit accumulates at the NPC. Molecules containing the classical nuclear localization signal (NLS) are transported into the nucleus by alpha/beta heterodimers. KPNA3 has been shown to be important in the TNF-a-induced nuclear import of NF-kB. It is also involved in the stress-mediated nuclear stabilization of p53 and the nuclear import and replication of HIV-1 in both dividing and non-dividing cells.
