Human
Conjugated Peptide
DR4 Antibody was produced from whole rabbit serum prepared by repeated immunizations with a peptide corresponding to amino acids near the c-terminus of human DR4 protein.
Anti-DR4 Antibody is directed against human DR4 protein.  The product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum.  The antibody is human, mouse and rat reactive.  Reactivity against homologues from other sources has not been determined.
O00220 - UniProtKB
259906438 - NCBI Protein

Application Details

ELISA, IF, IHC, WB
DR4 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, western blotting, ICC, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.  HeLa whole cell lysate can be used as a positive control for western blotting, and a band at approximately 57 kDa is expected. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, occurs during normal cellular differentiation and development of multicellular organisms.  Apoptosis is induced by certain cytokines in the TNF family, including TNF and Fas ligand, through their death domain containing receptors, TNFR1 and Fas.  A novel death domain containing receptor was recently identified and designated DR4 (for death receptor 4).  The ligand for this novel death receptor has been identified and termed TRAIL, which is a new member in the TNF family. DR4 is also called TRAIL receptor-1 (TRAIL-R1). DR4 is expressed in most human tissues including spleen, peripheral blood leukocytes, small intestine and thymus. Like TNFR1, Fas and DR3, DR4 mediates apoptosis and NF-kB activation in many tissues and cells. Anti-DR4 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Apoptosis and Cytokines and Growth Factors.
