Recombinant Protein
Calbindin-D antibody was produced in mice by repeated immunizations with a recombinant protein corresponding to bovine kidney calbindin-D.
Anti-Calbindin-D antibody was purified from mouse ascites by protein A chromatography.  This product reacts with human, mouse, bovine, and rat. Cross reactivity with Calbindin-D from other sources has not been determined.

The human calbindin D28k (CALB1) is a calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily. It was originally described as a 27-kD protein induced by vitamin D in the duodenum of the chick. Parmentier et al. (1991) mapped the CALB1 gene to 8q21.3-q22.1 by in situ hybridization. This antibody is suitable for researchers interested in transcription factors, nuclear receptors, cancer research, and nutritional and metobolic diseases.
