Conjugated Peptide
Anti-BAG4 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a peptide corresponding to amino acids near the N-terminus of human BAG4.
Anti-BAG4 Antibody is purified by DEAE purification methods. Cross reactivity with BAG4 from other sources has not been determined.

Application Details

ELISA, IF, IHC, WB
Anti-BAG4 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at approximately 50 kDa in Western blots of specific cell lysates and tissues.

Apoptosis is a process induced by specific cytokines, including TNF and Fas ligand, which belong to the TNF family. These cytokines exert their effects through their death domain-containing receptors, TNF-R1 and Fas. Recently, several additional death receptors have been identified, including DR3, DR4, DR5, and DR6. The apoptotic signal is transmitted by adapter molecules containing death domains that interact with the death domains of these receptors. A novel TNF-R1 interacting protein, named BAG4 (also known as silencer of death domains), was recently identified. BAG4 associates with the death domain of TNF-R1, preventing its constitutive activation. Upon TNF treatment, BAG4 is released, allowing adapter molecules such as TRADD to recruit to the active TNF-R1 complex, thereby activating TNF signaling pathways. Additionally, BAG4 interacts with DR3. BAG4 is ubiquitously expressed across various human tissues and cell lines.
