ApoA5 Antibody,
Rabbit
Polyclonal
IgG

Target Details

APOA5
Human, Chicken
Conjugated Peptide
Anti-ApoA5 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a 15 amino acid synthetic peptide near the C-terminus of chicken ApoA5.
Anti-ApoA5 Antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. Cross reactivity with ApoA5 from other sources has not been determined.

Apoliproprotein A-V is a protein coded by the APOA5 gene, which is highly expressed in the liver. This protein is responsible for binding to lipids in the liver and forming lipoproteins. In recent years, the gene has been used as a marker for measuring cardiovascular health as well as metabolic syndromes. The protein plays an important role in plasma triglyceride (lipid) regulation within the body. Although only expressed in the liver, APOA5 has functions both inside and outside of cells, as well as modulating triglyceride homeostasis in areas like the gut. Mutations in the APOA5 gene have up to 3 times the risk for the development of cardiovascular disease in association studies. Dietary studies support this lack of metabolic regulation by showing that any mutation in APOA5 will result in higher triglyceride levels than control groups when dieting.
